This year we are celebrating the \u201cEuropean Days of Cultural Heritage\u201d in an unprecedented spirit, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and\nYouth, Ms. Mariya Gabriel, stated that \u201cthis year, in addition to events with physical\nattendance, the European Days of Cultural Heritage offer an excellent range of\ndigital content from Europe\u2019s Cultural Reserve.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As known, the pandemic has disrupted the traditional way of working and acting in\nthe field of Culture and has shown now more than ever how important the digital\ntransformation of Cultural Heritage Institutions is.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Ms. Gabriel noted emphatically, based on this year\u2019s thematic title\n\u201cEuropean Days of Cultural Heritage and Education\u201d that the future of Europe is\ndigital, and that in order to preserve the memory of Europe\u2019s Cultural Heritage,\nexperiences must be exchanged. Also, that, to aquire the knowledge about the\nEuropean Union during the school period \u201cIt is not a Luxury, It is a Necessity\u201d.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this spirit, the Board of H&M, decided to participate this year in the cultural\nevents of the common European Vision, with an online Awards Ceremony, a\nrecognition event of the work performed by the Directors and Curators, \u201cpillars\u201d of\nour Greek Museums internationally.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nMs. Lila de Chaves-Chronopoulou with great pleasure invites you to the Online\nAwards Ceremony for three Directors and Curators in Greek Museums who have\ndelivered a remarkable course in recent years in the field of Museums and Culture,\nwith particular emphasis on their educational role.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The online Awards Ceremony will take place on September 27th, the last day of the\n\u201cEuropean Days of Cultural Heritage\u201d Athens, September 25-27.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the goals of H&M is to promote the global culture, through communication,\neducation and research. In this spirit, this year, in order to celebrate its13th\nanniversary the \u0392oard has decided to award the following:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sofia Peloponnessiou-Vasilakou<\/strong> Museologist, Curator of \u201cKatakouzinou House\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zanet Battinou<\/strong> Archaeologist, Director of the Jewish Museum of Greece <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costas Maniatopoulos<\/strong> Art Historian-Painter, Director of the \u201cMuseum & Library Stratis Eleftheriadis-Teriade \u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The above award recipients, in addition to their knowledge, have exceeded the\nusual professional responsibilities of their position, with remarkable devotion and\ncontribution to their museums, also through their personal free time.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H&M, Heritage and Museums, is a non-profit organisation, under the supervision of\nthe Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and its activities\nare based on cooperatiom and volunteering, with particular sensitivity to people with\ndisabilities and culturally excluded groups in general, as well as the environment\nand tourism. And alongside, supporting actions for the prevention of climate change\nas suggested by the Greek Minister of Culture Ms Lina Mendoni at the Madrid\nConvention.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Online Awards Ceremony will be presented by the renowned journalist, former\neditor-in-chief of European Affairs of KATHIMERINI, a collaborator of ERT, and\nBusiness Communication Consultant, Ms. Ritsa Masoura.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards will be presented by the President of Heritage and Museums\nMs. Lila de Chaves-Chronopoulou.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have the honor of receiving a welcoming greeting for this award ceremony by\nMs. Jette Sandahl, Chair of the emblematic British Body EMF, European Museum\nForum. EMF is commissioned to award in Strasbourg, the Annual Award for the\nBest European Museum. Followed by the exceptional annual thematic EMF EMYA\nawards, also under the auspices of the Council of Europe.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, we would like to share with you that H&M, Heritage & Museums,\nwhich today awards the Greek Directors and Curators, has signed a memorandum\nof understanding with EMF EMYA European Museum Forum, of the Council of\nEurope, since 2010.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, intercultural efforts of H&M, have the support of Director-General of\nthe world heritage sector of UNESCO, Dr. Mechtild E. Rossler.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
